Organized by two event planners, David & HP Loh, it was one of the most exciting, easiest games to play! All the contestants need to do, was to sit quietly in front of the desktop, take a few deep breaths to calm the nerves down, and start typing feverishly away! The fastest typist who managed to successfully complete the 3 stages with minimum errors would be crowned as the winner! As easy as that! And the best thing is, this exciting competition also came with a line of prizes for the top-3 winners!

Like a big happy family, meeting to keep up with each family member’s progress is necessary in order to keep everything in order besides strengthening the bond among the family members. Therefore, last Wednesday, Exabytes recently organized our first ever “TownHall Meeting” which was held to raise feedbacks and suggestions on matters concerned from our very own family members.

 The thing that is so special about this meeting is that, it involves the participation of all Exabytes family members – inside and outside Exabytes HQ! How? With a little help from our dear technology – Skype, of course! Hehe. So we had it turned on, and contacted our family in Cyberjaya and not forgetting, those in India. And believe it or not, the meeting started as early as 0710 in the morning and successfully ended even before our working hours to ensure the efficiency of our daily operations. So you can imagine how early each of us had to get up on that day! Surprisingly though, all of us turned up on time (if not earlier) and none was caught nodding their heads eyes-shut, throughout the 1-hour meeting! Hehe.

Since our time was limited, we only had the chance to discuss 2 agendas, which were:

• ways to reduce our support request, and
• office environment each of us would like to have when move to our new office soon

In conjunction with World Congress of Information Technology (WCIT), MIRC has organized the MIRC e-SMEs Week 2008 from 13^th – 15^th May 2008 at Wisma MCA, Kuala Lumpur. Being one of the leading IT enterprises in Malaysia, Exabytes has taken initiative to participate as vendor in this meaningful event.

This event was targeted at 50 participants from all over Malaysia especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Small Office Home Office (SOHO). This year, MIRC organized its e-SMEs Week 2008, which was a series of activities that filled with e-contents – MIRC e-Enablement Workshops, IT Training Program (Powered by XTrain), and MIRC e-SMEs Program 2008.

Day 1 and day 2 consist of knowledge enriching talks to SME and SOHO, such as online marketing strategies, advice for supply chain management, ERP knowledge to improve business productivity, Google Adwords tips and online payment gateways from some experienced outrunners in IT industry. The informative talks have infused audiences with the rich online businesses tips extracted from the speakers’ successful experience.

On day 3, the event was carried on with MIRC e-SME Program 2008. The MIRC e-SME Program 2008 included activities such as low cost hardware and software showcase and e-Business talks. In low cost hardware and software showcase, a group of IT vendors and e-Enablement Partners, including Exabytes were offering hardware products and solutions at subsidized or discounted rate during the MIRC e-SMEs Week 2008. Participants were able to get good bargains on hardware and software that are suitable for their businesses.

In addition, MIRC has invited some experienced experts in IT industry, such as Hanson Toh from Google, Adrian Oh from Neowave and Chris Tan from eBay, to share with participants in developing their online businesses and also to understand the e-commerce issues. With these inspiring talks, participants have received detailed information on procedures and guidelines for enhance their skills in developing online businesses and utilize the online platform to market their products or services smartly.

Adrian Oh from Neowave. He was the most active speaker in e-SMEs Week 2008 and has presented consecutively 3 talks about online marketing in the 3 days event.

Jason from YGL Convergence. He has given audience with abundance of useful knowledge to better use on supply chain management and ERP system in order to build a successful business.

Terry Yee who represented famous local online payment gateway solution provider, iPay88. Through his presentation, audiences have received detailed information and guide about implementation of online payment gateway in websites.

Another good presenter, Bikesh Lakhmichand from XTrain. He has shared great tips on web marketing and methods to generate traffic to websites.

Our sales executive was introducing our hosting plans and providing free consultation to a customer at our booth.
